Privacy Policy
AcquireBrands is a brand operated by Mentify LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers acquirebrands.com and the pages served from it, and the public comments we receive from our own Facebook Page and Instagram professional account.
If you only want to know how to have your data deleted, that is on its own page: User Data Deletion.
What you give us directly
When you request a free resource such as the FBA Roadmap, or apply for the Amazon FBA Accelerator, you submit information yourself. Depending on the form, that is:
- your name, email address and, on some forms, your phone number
- the country you are in
- your answers to the questions on that form, for example your available capital band, the hours a week you can commit, and why you are looking for a second income
We ask for this because it is what the resource is built from. The roadmap is assembled around your country, hours and capital, and an application cannot be assessed without answers.
What we record automatically
To understand which channels bring people to the site, we record:
- a random visitor identifier generated in your browser. It is not derived from you, and it identifies a browser rather than a person
- the campaign parameters in the link you arrived through (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term), the referring website, and the first page you landed on
- page views and clicks on primary buttons
We keep your first set of campaign parameters permanently and separately from the ones current at each later submission, so we can tell which channel originally introduced you without losing what you did afterwards.
Storage in your browser
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies on this site. We use your browser's own local storage for two values: ab.v1, which holds your visitor identifier and first-touch campaign data and persists between visits, and ab.s1, which holds the campaign data for the current session only and is discarded when you close the tab. Clearing your browser storage removes both.
Comments on our Facebook and Instagram accounts
We run a Facebook Page and an Instagram professional account. When you comment publicly on one of our posts, Meta sends that comment to us so that we can read it, keep track of it and reply. This is data about you that we hold, so it is covered by this policy — even though you gave it to Meta rather than to us.
What we receive and store is:
- the text of your comment, and when it was posted
- the public username or account identifier Meta sends with it, and whether the comment is a reply to another comment
- the identifier Meta assigns to the comment, and to the post and account it belongs to
- engagement metadata Meta provides with the comment, such as whether it has since been edited or removed on the platform
- our own record of how we handled it: a classification of what kind of comment it is, scores the classification produced, whether a member of staff reviewed it, and whether it was replied to, hidden, unhidden or deleted
We do not receive or store your private messages, your email address, your phone number, your friends or followers, or anything from your profile beyond the public username that accompanies the comment. We do not collect comments from accounts that are not ours.
What we do with comments
We use them to manage the reputation of our own accounts, and nothing else:
- to organise comments so that none goes unanswered — sorting them, grouping them, and classifying what kind of comment each one is
- to flag the ones a person should read, so that complaints and criticism reach a human rather than being missed in volume
- to reply to questions and to people asking how to work with us
- to hide, unhide or delete comments where we are authorised to, under Meta's own rules — for example spam, or abuse directed at our team
Criticism is not moderated away. Complaints about us, criticism, and comments questioning our claims are routed to a person to answer, and are never hidden automatically. A delete always requires a decision by a member of staff; nothing automated can delete a comment.
Classification by a third-party AI provider
To classify comments we send the text of a comment to Anthropic, an AI provider, which returns a categorisation of it. That is the only purpose we send it for, and we send the comment text and nothing else about you — no name, no email address, no contact record, and nothing from the rest of this site.
What Anthropic does with the text it processes is governed by Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy rather than by this one, and we do not make claims here about their retention or training practices on our behalf. If that matters to you, Anthropic publishes its own commercial terms and privacy policy, and you may prefer to raise the point with us before commenting.
How we use it
- to deliver the resource you asked for
- to decide honestly whether a paid program is a sensible next step for you, and to tell you when it is not
- to contact you about the program you enquired about, and about related material where you have agreed to that
- to measure which campaigns and pages actually work
Who else processes it
We use a small number of service providers, each acting on our instructions:
- Supabase: our database, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt)
- Vercel: website and application hosting
- Typeform: the form used to collect Accelerator applications
- Vidalytics: video hosting on the Accelerator page
- Google Fonts: typefaces, requested by your browser when a page loads
- Meta Platforms: the source of the public comment data described above, and the platform our Page and Instagram account are on
- Anthropic: classification of comment text, as described above
When we connect an email delivery provider and a customer relationship system, they will be added to this list before they receive any of your data.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not trade, rent or disclose it to anyone for their own marketing. Comment data is used to manage our own accounts and for nothing else.
Who can see it
Access is limited to authorised members of our own staff who need it to do the work described above, through individual accounts with permissions granted for the purpose. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it — credentials are held in a secrets manager rather than in code or configuration, access is authenticated and permission-checked, and actions taken on comments are recorded against the person who took them. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
How long we keep it
We keep contact records and the submissions attached to them for as long as we are in contact with you about a program, and afterwards only for as long as we have a business or legal reason to.
We keep comment data for as long as it is reasonably necessary to manage the account it was left on — so that a conversation has its history, and so that a comment we answered is not treated as new — and afterwards only where we have an operational or legal reason to. If you ask us to delete it, we delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, stop using it for marketing, or send you a copy. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time, and every email we send will include a way to unsubscribe. Exercising any of these costs you nothing and we will not treat you differently for it.
Deletion has a page of its own, because it is the request we are asked for most and because it has a few practical details worth stating plainly: User Data Deletion. One limit is worth repeating here — we can delete the copy of a comment that we hold, but the comment on Facebook or Instagram belongs to your account on that platform, and you remove that one yourself.
Contact. Privacy requests, deletion requests and questions about this policy go to privacy@acquirebrands.com, addressed to Mentify LLC.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use information you already gave us will be communicated directly.
